Research Interests:

  • Bulk crystal growth and solidification of functional/advanced materials (e.g. magnetic, optical and superconducting materials) from melt by techniques such as optical floating zone technique, TSFZ, RF floating zone, Bridgman, Tri-arc and Czochralski.
  • Characterization, structure-property relationships and defect-related properties of oxides
  • Diluted magnetic semiconductors, in particular, transition metal-doped oxide materials
